She started with making cards with cut out pre-printed images and has progressed onto using a computer program to design and print the card and then does some additional 'by hand' craftwork (like adding glitter or other decoration) to finish them off. The really cool thing is on the back, where the company name would normally be, she prints "Made expecially for [person's name]" so although they look professional, the person knows it was made for them and this seems to have almost as much impact as the quality of the craft that goes into the card itself!
